July 13, 2014

Photographs of actress Riley Keough modelling for de Grisogono at the Grand Hyatt Hôtel Martinez, where she was based during the Festival de Cannes in May 2014, have been released.

Using one of the suites, Keough modeled wearing various de Grisogono jewelry items, including the latest Allegra line (in Lucire issue 33), as well as designs from the Gocce and Gypsy collections.

Paris-based Italian photographer Emanuele Scorcelletti, well known for his portraits and his work with luxury brands, photographed Keough.

The Allegra collection is ‘Dedicated to a new generation of women, who dare to express their radiance, and explore different shapes and jeweled expressions of their individuality,’ says de Grisogono.

Keough, who is the granddaughter of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, began her modelling career in her teens, and first appeared on an international runway for Dolce & Gabbana.

Her acting début was in The Runaways (2010), and she soon landed the female lead in The Good Doctor (2011) opposite Orlando Bloom. She has recently completed filming on Mad Max: Fury Road, alongside Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The Story Behind Lisa Marie Presley's Name

7/17/2014

Priscilla Presley, regularly answers the questions of Elvis fans via her Facebook page.

Here is a fan question regarding Lisa's name and Priscilla's answer from July 10th.

Picture

Q: How did you and Elvis choose Lisa Marie's name?

A: "I bought a book of baby names for Elvis and I to choose from. We would lay in bed night after night looking through all the names that would sound good together. We decided that Lisa Marie was beautiful for a girl and I loved the name John Baron for a boy...he agreed.  From what I hear, it was written somewhere that we may have taken the name Marie after Col. Parker, his manager's wife, who was named Marie. That is not true. We just simply... liked those two names together."

An Interview with Riley Keough
June 5, 2014

By: Anna Maria Speroni

Riley Keough is one of the girls with the highest concentration of celeb family that social remember, yet insists that her childhood was (almost) the same as any other child: more than good faith defense seems at odds close to a privacy violated very often. Long red hair, blue eyes, as well as the obvious striking looks with mother Lisa Marie Presley and grandmother Priscilla Presley.

The encounter in the messy room of a large hotel where she is working. With her an agent-mastiff, those who never smile, plus a guy in shorts and baseball cap that is presented to us as a bodyguard: in fact it is also her new boyfriend, Ben Smith-Petersen, an actor stuntman.

Model for many years (the first time was for a photo shoot for Vogue with mom and grandmother), Riley prefers the cinema, where she's trying to make her way slowly: sometimes with important family can be complicated. After Magic Mike, where she met her ex-boyfriend Alex Pettyfer, next year we will see in Mad Max: Fury Road and The Green are gone, "a drama."

With a family like her's has never thought of becoming a singer? Her mother has released three albums, her father is musician Danny Keough. Not to mention her grandfather, Elvis Presley.

Riley: "No, never. I play the piano, but it is a hobby. Like traveling, reading, drinking beer, eating chips and watching Street Shark."

Riley began working as a model. Was it her idea or family?

Riley: "My idea. I was only 14 years old and really want to be independent in order to buy what I wanted. The older sister of a friend of mine worked as a model and made good money, so I imitated. But I do not think that will continue, it was a passing phase."

The job is not suitable for you?

Riley: "Mah ..they are very impatient and photo shoots are boring. If it was my career, I do not think I would have been the best."

When her mother separated from Michael Jackson she was 7 years old. What do you remember of the time with him?

Riley: "That was nice. MJ was a generous person who spent a lot of time to others, so a lot of fun for a child."

Do you listen to the music of your grandfather?

Riley: "Yes Not often, but I like it. And I watch his movies, I find them cool, I love the design and the costumes of those years."

Do you have any memorabilia in the house?

Riley: "I do not."

For a couple of years she and her very hot actor Alex Pettyfer continue to pick and leave. At what stage are you?

Riley: "We broke up."

You jealous?

Riley: "I'm not jealous, if there is nothing to be jealous. Alex and I were friends."

Has being raised in a family of star so crowded, has affected her life?

Riley: "Look, I do not see any difference with the other, really."

Even as a child?

Riley: "Especially as a child ... It was my life, it seemed normal. Not at all, most of the time ... I'm a nervous trembling arrival of character."

The time in which you felt particularly nervous?

Riley: "All ... No joke. My first audition I had looked terrible. But maybe from the outside it was not, because then I got the part for The Runaways movie."

Lisa Marie Presley "Storm & Grace" Two Years Ago

5/15/2014

Picture

Lisa Marie Presley released her third studio album "Storm & Grace" on this day two years ago May 15th, 2012.

"Storm & Grace" was  the first album in seven years to be released from Lisa Marie Presley. The album is on the Universal Republic label and it was produced by Grammy Award Winning Producer, T-Bone Burnett. The first single to be released from the album was "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet."

"Just over two years ago, I went to England to attempt to write another record after finding myself in a considerably disheartened and uninspired state creatively. Over an 8-month period, I wrote 30 songs. I was fortunate to be able to write with some incredible artists and singers such as Richard Hawley (from Pulp), Ed Harcourt, Sacha Skarbek and Fran Healy (from Travis), to name a few. Nothing was planned or contrived in any way, and out of it came a very organic record that was always inside of me and that I am incredibly proud of. It was a dream come true and such an honor when T-Bone liked the songs and produced and played on the record."

Singing up a storm - Lisa Marie Presley is pure entertainment
April 4, 2014

Lisa Marie Presley and her five-piece band played to a full house at Hurstville Entertainment Centre on Thursday night.

It was the last of the Memphis-born singer’s Australian shows for her Storm and Grace world tour promoting her album of the same name.

The only child of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie wowed the audience of fans, aged from eight to seniors, who cheered and laughed at her  jokes and banter between songs and her disbelief at the size of spiders and crocodiles in Australia.

One fan arrived as a Lisa Marie look-alike and another fan took home one of the drumsticks she threw into the crowd after her last song.

Presley reclaims her roots on her latest album, Storm and Grace.

Rolling Stone magazine has said that ‘‘Storm and Grace is the album she was born to make — a raw, powerful country, folk and blues collection that finds her embracing her southern roots and family name’’.

How I unwind: Lisa Marie Presley

4/2/2014

Picture
How I unwind: Lisa Marie Presley
Date: March 30, 2014

She has one of the most famous surnames in showbusiness but it's a lesser-known fact that Lisa Marie Presley has carved out her own career in music. As the only child of Elvis, she has led a life that has given the gossip magazines plenty of fodder, from her marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage, to her interest in Scientology. But now, at 46, she's enjoying a relatively stable, normal life in a small village in England with her husband, music producer Michael Lockwood, and their twin daughters, Finley and Harper, 5. She's touring her third album, the rootsy Storm & Grace, which she worked on with Grammy Award-winner T Bone Burnett.

I love touring …

I adore it. I love being busy. I love the work. I love the interaction with the crowd, with the fans. I do meet-and-greets a lot, so I get to hear what I or my music has done to help them, and it gives me a lift, a good high. It could be anything from getting them through a death in the family, serious illness, chemotherapy, cancer - anything and everything on those fronts. It always makes me feel better and makes me happy I could do that. I have a very paternal relationship with T Bone

Burnett …

He's so inspiring for me. I was really knocked down a bit, I had been through a lot, and I wrote the record [Storm & Grace] and I was kind of sitting on the songs. I wasn't really planning on doing much with them. He really took me under his wing and I felt protected, and he gave me so much confidence.

We've really made a home in England …

I have my local pub, we have neighbours, we have friends that we've made there that are just dear, dear, dear friends that I never thought I would make in a million years. I love cooking and I love gardening. My husband got me a couple of horses for Christmas and I was trying to take that up before I left [for the tour]. Things are just very, very simple and normal, and I love that.

The best advice I was ever given about a career in music …

Was something David Bowie said to me. He came to a show and freaked me out because I was such a fan, and said to me, ''Don't let them throw you into this too quickly and too harshly, and don't get out of your comfort zone''. He wanted me to build, and not be thrown into this big, giant scenario, which is kind of what I was getting into on the first record [To Whom it May Not Concern in 2003]. I think he saw that I was overwhelmed. I didn't have time to get stage legs and build a following. I jumped off the deep end into the deepest water out there. When he said make sure things are done at the proper pace, that you're comfortable with it, and it will break your heart if things are too quick for you, it was correct information.

The constant references to my father are …

Something that I've learnt to deal with. Believe it or not, it doesn't affect me in a negative way. I have managed to get my own fanbase. I think if I hadn't managed that, I don't know I could continue if people are just coming to see a replica of him. I know for a fact I have fans of my own and my own following, and if I didn't, I don't think it would be as easy.

We had a very special thing happen the other night …

James Burton [famed US guitarist who performed with Elvis] joined me on stage in Fort Worth, Texas, to do a couple of my songs with me, and it was mind- blowingly special … So it's not something I fight [the connection to her father] and something that I don't like - but there's a good balance, is what I'm saying. I do have my own thing going on. If I didn't, it would be harder.

If I wasn't a musician …

I would be a doctor or nurse, because I know way too much about things … like that. I was a hypochondriac for a good portion of my life and I picked up a lot [of information]. So people come to me if they have an ailment, and I know what it is and I can explain it to them. And I don't get grossed out by needles or taking blood. My husband flips out and he doesn't understand why I don't freak out, but I just don't.

It's really hard for me to unwind …

I can't do it, sadly. Before shows I do try to meditate a little bit and keep everything really calm around me. But I can't really unwind naturally, which is sad. As you get older, it gets a little tougher. It requires a cocktail here and there [laughs].

Lisa Marie Presley's Slim-Down: I'm at My Teenage Weight

Lisa Marie Presley's Slim-Down: I'm at My Teenage Weight

By K.C. BAKER
03/29/2014

Like millions of women, Lisa Marie Presley has tried fad diets over the years – with mixed results. Recently spotted in Australia looking slim, the singer-songwriter has finally discovered what works.

"Eating clean and organic is best," Presley, 46, tells PEOPLE from Down Under, where she and her husband, guitarist Michael Lockwood, are touring in support of her album Storm & Grace.

The daughter of the late Elvis Presley sticks to vegetables, chicken, fish, nuts, fruit, almond milk and freshly made juices. Currently at her "happy" weight, she also walks 30 minutes every other day and lifts light weights, usually with Lockwood, herhusband of eight years.

It's all paid off: "I'm at the weight I was at when I was a teenager," Presley tells PEOPLE. "I love the way clothes fit right now."

In addition to watching how much she consumes – "I eat half of what I am given, especially when I have carbs or grains," she explains – Presley also makes better choices overall.

"I just had avocado with feta cheese on toast with some spinach," she says. "Last night I had vegetable chicken curry. I watch the rice, obviously. I'll have a fistful."

Presley took a good look at her health a few years ago. "Knowing my family history – my father's side is totally not healthy and they have shorter life spans [her father died at 42], while my mom's side is super fit with long life spans – I didn't know where I would land. So I said, 'Okay. I'm going to play it safe and try to be as healthy as I can be.' "

She decided to make health a priority when she went on tour in 2012. "Being on the road for a three-month run gets intense. I can be really, super disciplined, but I can also be really not disciplined," she says, laughing. "I love Mexican food. So we have to watch that. I'll have one chicken taco."

Presley admits that touring also makes it tough to fit in regular workouts. "I can't always get off the bus and walk for 30 minutes. But the show is 90 minutes long and I'm constantly moving and my adrenaline is pumping, so I'm sure that is burning calories."

While touring is good for her waistline, so is running after her 5-year-old fraternal twins with Lockwood, Harper and Finley.

"The twins are with me on tour and are constantly on the go, so they keep me moving," she says. "I do chase after them, but it's not just that. There's always so much going on with the little ones and the older ones, too [daughter Riley, 24, and son Benjamin, 21, from her first marriage to Danny Keough]. It's a lot!"

Lisa Marie Presley: her father's gift but singing her own tune

4/1/2014

Lisa Marie Presley: her father's gift but singing her own tune
Date March 22, 2014

In the darkness stands Lisa Marie Presley, chewing on a pastille and staring at the spotlight as she waits in the wings for her cue. Alone but never alone - a personal assistant sprinkles talcum powder on her palms and the soles of her bare feet, to stop them sweating and sliding over the stage.

The Hornsby RSL showroom is five-sixths full. Fans with black bouffants and mutton chops sit at numbered tables under the seafood-sauce coloured ceiling. The most famous surname in show business is doing the suburban club circuit, her name up in fluorescents here and in Hurstville, Campbelltown, Frankston, Tumbi Umbi, Rooty Hill.

Hours earlier, she had sat at Table 19, wearing a black leather skirt and black T-shirt with the word "CHIEF" stamped across it. Her stage crew tested the sound speakers, shouting slogans into a microphone: "Serendipitous serenity!" "Show me the money!"

Beyond the doors came the clattering of poker machines. There's a white baby grand in the hall but not for playing. A queue by the bainmarie for the pre-show special: beef OR vege lasagne with chips OR salad ($8.30/9.50).

It's an older crowd in comfortable shoes. Most will stay seated throughout the show. Presley, 46, suspects many have come to see her father through her. "I can tell who is there for me and who is not," she says.

Before the show she sits in a make-up chair marked "LMP" and clears her throat with a concoction of apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper. She meditates, breathing deep as her hair is whipped into curls that won't survive the hot stage lights.

Her hair stretches to the small of her back, not so much framing as bolstering her face. She is smaller than she seems on stage, where she growls and jangles in a floor-length black dress and bare feet with black-painted nails, about love and loss and digging holes to go down. "The next song I wrote when everything was broken," she tells the audience.

"I was surrounded by a bunch of vampires at one point in my life," she explains later. "I was buried by them."

She last toured Australia in 2004, playing the big city casinos. Now she's here in Hornsby, the stage framed by a big white cross and a portrait of the Queen. It's like Elvis playing a five-and-dime. "The [new] record is pretty intimate so the venues are intimate," Presley says. "I just kind of go where I am told to play.

"To be honest with you, I actually lose money when I tour … I just have a purpose in helping people."

Tomorrow, she will sit in a city hotel, her back to the harbour, for a succession of television interviewers asking every which way about her father. They are told not to ask about ex-husband Michael Jackson or Scientology.

Presley will talk about how she is sometimes thick skinned and sometimes not, and how anyone can be famous now. "When I was growing up you avoided at all costs trying to be in the tabloids … Now people have paparazzi on speed dial."

She doesn't mention her father by name, but recalls watching "him" perform when she was young and how she would ask him to sing How Great Thou Art or Just Pretend. "I have always loved beautiful sad songs," she says.

Tonight, her Hornsby show finishes with a cover of Tom Petty's I Need To Know. Off stage, in an upstairs dressing room, Presley describes the crowd as "polite". "It was an older crowd but I think we were in a retirement area."

Then there's a wardrobe change before a meet-and-greet with fans who have paid extra for a personal photograph, among them Greg Page, the Yellow Wiggle once removed. They have been told not to dress as Elvis or Jackson. "It's just awkward," Presley says.

Chris Rutherford, 27, from Berowra, leans in close to say she "saved" him. "I love that she has her own identity apart from her father," he tells me later. "She's got her own sound."
