Mud Creek Swimming hole located in Tupelo is where Elvis Presley sometimes swam and explored the creek side as a young boy. Elvis was born in Tupelo on January 8th 1935 to Vernon and Gladys Presley.

The location of Mud Creek was officially marked by the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau as the 11th spot for the Elvis Presley Driving Tour.

A ceremony was held June 6th 2013 to mark the site. Mayor Jack Reed and Elvis' childhood friend, Guy Harris, spoke at the ceremony,  which was hosted by musician Memphis Jones. Harris recalled of when the he and Elvis would play in the creek before Elvis moved to Memphis.

You can visit the site at 99 North Veterans Blvd by walking the short Music Bend Nature Trail. The trail is located next to the Eastwood Softball Complex. In addition to the marker there is a very nice observation deck where you can stand and admire the creek.

Elvis Presley Fans of Nashville, President Caroline Pratt visited the site on Saturday, June 6th and captured the photos seen in this article.
