Scotty McCreery Covers "That’s All Right" at the Grand Ole Opry

2/7/2013

Elvis' music has returned to the famous Grand Ole Opry stage. Fans can now watch American Idol winner Scotty McCreery covering Elvis' Sun Studio single, "That's All Right," on TasteOfCountry.com.

"Often credited as the first true rock 'n' roll record, ‘That’s All Right’ was the very first track Presley released as a recording artist. The song failed to chart, but earned Gold certification due to its popularity on local Memphis radio stations. Presley eventually charted a total of 20 No. 1 singles, including 11 that also reached the top spot on the country charts," statesTasteOfCountry.com.

McCreery performed this past Saturday, February 2, at the Opry and delivered an "electrifying performance" of the 1954 classic. McCreery, who has often named Elvis as one of his biggest inspirations, first performed "That’s All Right" during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-themed episode of "American Idol" in 2011.
