NPR Features José Feliciano and His Tribute Album to Elvis
April 04, 2013

Elvis continues to impact music today with his overwhelming influence on pop culture. In an interview with NPR's Michael Feinstein, famous guitarist and Elvis fan José Feliciano talks about his new album "The King" and his tribute album to Elvis Presley.

In an hour long interview, Feliciano performs his own version of "Always On My Mind," "Love Me Tender," "All Shook Up," among others. He also talks developing his own style from legendary artists such as Elvis and why he chose to cover several of Elvis' songs. He also talks about working with Elvis' close friend George Klein who helped produced Feliciano's new album. He also shares his experience visiting Graceland during the 2012 Birthday Celebration and meeting Priscilla Presley for the first time.

Puerto Rico native José Feliciano is a household name, classical composer and has been called "the greatest living guitarist" by critics worldwide. He has received eight Grammy Awards and has been nominated 17 times. Feliciano's "The King" pays tribute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll with his own spin on some Elvis' biggest hits.
