George Hill photographed Elvis on stage numerous times in the 1970's. He captured over 156 photos of Elvis on stage performing two shows in Nashville, Tennessee on July 1, 1973 at The Municipal Auditorium. It has now been 40 years since Elvis rocked Nashville, and George is now releasing a book which commemorates the two shows. The book features 53 color photos and 103 black & white photos, from the original negatives and slides captured by photographer, George Hill.
The only drawback of the book is the outrageous price, which will cost you $185 US dollars.
"The Auditorium in Nashville was small. It held only 9,000 people, and it was LOUD. During the first show, he had some folks in Nashville that he wanted to thank. The only name I remember for sure was Chet Atkins. He read the list of names from a sheet of paper that he had. Then he sang FADED LOVE, from the Elvis Country Album, and dedicated it to them." - George Hill
