Lansky Building rehab begins -- $2.5 million renovation has begun for new home of Hard Rock Cafe
A $2.5 million renovation of the old Lansky Brothersclothing store at 126 Beale has begun for Hard Rock Cafe Memphis.
Crews from W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Co. are working on the building, which previously housed Elvis Presley’s Memphis restaurant and club.
A building permit listed Hard Rock Cafe International as tenant and Belz Enterprises as owner. Belz represents the Lansky family. Hnedak Bobo Group is project architect.
Hard Rock International has not yet officially announced the relocation from its original Memphis location at 315 Beale Street, where it opened in 1997. A news conference was scheduled at the Lansky site, then postponed.
The Lansky building redevelopment is believed to be a multi-tenant project that also includes a Memphis music museum.
