Kick Off the Holiday Season at the 2013 Graceland Lighting Ceremony on November 22
October 28, 2013
Elvis Presley’s Graceland will officially begin the holiday season by “flipping the switch” on the traditional lights and decorations during the annual lighting ceremony on Friday, November 22 at 6:00 p.m.
The extensive Christmas display includes hundreds of blue lights along the driveway, a life-size Nativity scene, Santa and his sleigh, and much more, all originally displayed at Graceland by Elvis and the Presley family. Santa, decked out like the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, will be available for pictures with the kids following the lighting ceremony. The FREE lighting event is open to the public.
Regular paid tours of Graceland will operate the day of the Lighting Ceremony from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The interiors of Graceland mansion will feature Elvis’ Christmas decor starting on November 22. Included will be his traditional red velvet drapes as well as Presley family Christmas artifacts on display around several trees throughout the home. The holiday decor at Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis will remain up through Elvis’ birthday celebration on January 8, 2014.
Also, don't miss your opportunity to appear in the wall-sized Christmas Fan Mosaic, which will be displayed the day of the ceremony. Fans can submit their photos for FREE until November 8 by visiting FanMosaics.com/ElvisChristmas.
