Joe Moscheo, of Elvis' Imperials has officially announced his retirement from the Imperials. Joe will keep the name "Elvis' Imperials". The only Original Imperial member that will continue to tour, is Terry Blackwood, who will form a new group by the name of "Terry Blackwood and the Imperials".
Here is Joe Moscheo's statement:
"To promoters and friends around the world, musicians, and singers... this is a very difficult time for me, retirement has never really been in my plans. Terry Blackwood and I have been business partners in 'Elvis' Imperials' for years. On March 24th, 2014, by my choice, we dissolved our long standing partnership. Terry will be transitioning away from the use of the name 'Elvis' Imperials' as soon as possible, per my agreement with EPE. He wants to use the name 'Terry Blackwood and the Imperials' going forward. I know there will continue to be lots of work for the group doing Elvis shows. Not to mention 2015 will begin Elvis' 80th birthday celebrations around the world. I pray Terry will be successful and have many more years on TOUR! I will continue to stay busy responding to my many requests for my presence to MC, judge contests, talk about my career, and share my stories and personal experiences working with Elvis. I will concentrate on talking about and promoting my book, The Gospel Side of Elvis. Thank you all for the memories, your friendships, and your continuing support. Blessings 2 U ALL!!"
