Graceland and Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation Support Red Cross Efforts in Tupelo
APRIL 29, 2014
Elvis’ hometown of Tupelo was hit by a tornado on April 28th with a small northern portion of the town receiving significant storm damage. The American Red Cross has set up a command post and shelter at the downtown Bancorp South Arena as they assist those impacted by the tornado.
The Elvis Presley Birthplace & Museum was not damaged in the storm, neither were any of the other Elvis-related landmarks that include Tupelo Hardware and Lyric Theater. Downtown Tupelo is fully functioning and welcoming visitors as they continue the clean-up efforts.
Following in the footsteps of Elvis who embraced a variety of charitable causes and always believed in helping those in need, the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation is making a donation to the American Red Cross and Elvis fans can do the same by donating at this link.
