May 31, 2014 – August 24, 2014
The Mercer Museum
Doylestown, Pennsylvania
Elvis Presley's 1969 Mercedes 600 will be on exhibit at the Mercer Museum.
Elvis purchased the 1969 Mercedes 600 Short Wheel Base personal limousine for $15,000 with a $5,000 down payment with the balance to be paid over 36 months. Several years later, Elvis gave the limousine to his friend, Jimmy Velvet.
"The exhibit takes visitors on a geographical and historical tour of the iconic highway, from the highway’s opening in 1926, up to the present day. Graphic displays, props, artifacts, interpretive text, and interactive experiences – including a drive-in theater and a period radio show – help deliver the story. The exhibit will have vintage automobiles and other items of automotive culture. Route 66 is produced and traveled by NRG! Exhibits of Kirkland, Washington."
