Elvis FANtasy Fest Kicks Off October 11th
September 25, 2013
Elvis fans are invited to the twenty-first annual Elvis FANtasy Fest taking place on October 11 - 13, 2013, at the Woodland Park Community Building (2100 Willowcreek Road in Portage, Indiana). Themed “My Happiness,” this year's event will honor Elvis' record which he paid to have made in 1953 at the famed Sun Studio. In addition, the festival will celebrate the happiness Elvis brought people through his music and generosity through his many charitable efforts. Part of the event proceeds will benefit Porter County Special Olympics.
Special Guest at the festival is Elvis’ own road manager and friend, Joe Esposito. Esposito met Elvis Presley in the Army. In 1960, when both were discharged, he accepted Elvis' offer of a job, becoming one of the Memphis Mafia, the inner circle of friends and employees who went virtually everywhere with the king. Fans will have the opportunity to visit with Esposito over the weekend and he will host the Saturday night dinner provided by the Porter County Special Olympics.
Also, appearing at the festival will be Sandra Falcetta, a local fan who has published her memories called, Dear Diary: an Elvis Fan Remembers. Hear he own amazing stories of encounters with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The festival will also feature qualifying round for Elvis Presley Enterprises’ Ultimate Tribute Artist Contest held during Elvis Week 2014, along with three amazing headliner shows. Last year’s preliminary winner, David Allen, will be back along with previous winners and World Champion ETAs Ted Torres and Dwight Icenhower opening for the 2012 Ultimate ETA Champion, Ben Portsmouth, all the way from Great Britain.
Be prepared to rock with the “Jukebox Live” show featuring Dwight Icenhower as Elton John, Irv Cass as Tom Jones, Ted Torres as Rick Nelson, Chicago’s own Steve Bobbit as Rod Stewart along with David Allen as Elvis.
Elvis memorabilia will be available along with an auction that will benefit the Porter County Special Olympics. We are pleased to announce the event is now part of the ElvisFestival.com series of events and we looking forward to continuing to work together as a community to celebrate Elvis the way the festival has for the past 21 years.
