Chicago Magazine Says "New Direct Flights Make Memphis Much More Attractive"
October 15, 2013
Home to Elvis Presley's Graceland, the newly-renovated Overton Square and the Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll, Memphis is now the place to travel with new flights from Chicago on Southwest Airlines! According to an article on ChicagoMag.com, "service to Memphis may prove to be a game changer."
Chicago Magazine talks about all of the popular attractions in Memphis, including stops at Beale Street and Sun Studio, but also looks at the emerging areas of Memphis where traveler's can discover the local flavor of the Bluff City.
"If you go now, there’s always Beale Street and Sun Studio, but at the end of the month the Indie Memphis Film Festival (October 31 - November 3) takes place in Overton Square," writes Chicago Magazine's Nina Kokotas Hahn. "While visiting the entertainment district, settle in for a bite of relaxed Creole at chef Kelly English’s Second Line restaurant, opening this month. Stay downtown at the 110-room Madison Hotel, but don’t call it a night just yet. Make your way up to the Madison’s new late-night Twilight Terrace rooftop, opened earlier this year, where a Smoke on the Water—hickory smoke-infused rye whiskey and maraschino bitters—will go great with those Mississippi River views."
