Bruce Springsteen Covers Elvis' "Burning Love" in Paris, France
July 01, 2013
Elvis fan and rocker Bruce Springsteen recently performed his own Elvis tribute at a tour stop in Paris, France. During his pre-show on June 29, 2013, Springsteen began the show with an acoustic version (video above) of the Elvis hit "Burning Love."
During the 2012 South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival, Springsteen credited Elvis' 1956 "Ed Sullivan Show" appearance as the beginning of a new language in pop culture by saying, "Elvis was the first modern, twentieth century man - the precursor of the sexual revolution, of the civil rights revolution - drawn from the same Memphis as Martin Luther King - creating fundamental outsider art that would be embraced by a mainstream popular culture."
