Margaret Ann Williams, former member of The Sweet Inspirations passed away October 1st. Ann worked with Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin. Ann's health has not been good for several years.
In late 1969, Ann Williams replaced Cissy Houston, after Cissy quit The Sweet Inspirations.
The first season that Ann Williams worked with Elvis was the Las Vegas January/February 1970 season. She also appeared in the 1970 Elvis documentary 'That’s the Way It Is' but for still unknown reasons left the group during the summer 1971 engagement at Lake Tahoe.
Besides Elvis, she sang extensively with Aretha Franklin, who called her “Taurus.”
In 2002 she joined The Sweets on stage at the "Elvis Concert" at the Memphis Pyramid.
Thanks to FECC's whatsupdoc for the photo of Elvis and Ann Williams.
